I spent another few agonizing, confused minutes limping my way somewhere - anywhere - along the road before finally bleeding out and dying on the side of the road.įeels like lifetimes ago lol. After realizing I had no idea how to heal/couldn't heal, I limped down the beach toward pier and had hope - I had seen someone use the pier extract in a video! After what felt like an eternity, I stumbled down the dock with my screen bloody and red, my pmc making all kinds of horrible noises, only to realize the extract wasn't open. Of course, I had no meds, or the wrong meds, and was bleeding. Right about where scav island is I had my first encounter with scavs, who promptly blew my legs and stomach out before I managed to kill them (thinking back, it was probably just ONE scav). I spawned near the beach (what I'd later learn is the tunnel extract) and started aimlessly wandering down the road. No knowledge of 'extracts' or anything about the game, other than it looked like a crazy, hardcore, intense sort of shooter/survival game that I had seen a few videos of on YouTube. I naively loaded up tarkov on my laptop I had at the time, and much the same as you, loaded into a raid. My first experience with tarkov was sometime in 2018 as well. I've been chasing that high ever since and although I still enjoy EFT with all of its ups and downs, but I am curious how many people felt similar while they were playing.Ĭheers Everyone! I look forward to reading your responses! The entire experience was horrifying and I was absolutely addicted. I spent 45 minutes in a perpetual state of anxiety and crawled my way around Customs until Sir Chaddington the Fourth clapped me behind the bus station outside of dorms. Within minutes I was inches away from my monitor and holding back pee everytime I heard a twig snap in game. With no actual experience of my own, no map knowledge, and not even a second monitor to pull up a map I ignorantly loaded right into a night raid. Well, I was right - it WAS unlike any other game I had played. I had been watching a lot of Summit1G at the time and this, "Tarky" game seemed like a completely fresh and exciting take on the survival/FPS genre so I thought I'd take a crack at it myself. My first raid - I built my first (capable) PC in the summer of '18 with the help if a military buddy and I immediately flocked to tarkov. I recently started playing EFT again after a long hiatus and I've found that playing more for the fights (especially with off-meta gear) than for rubles or survival rate has made a huge improvement in my ability to "tolerate" Tarkov. This is just for my own curiosity (and maybe a YT video in the future), but that being said I think that reading the experiences of both "newbies" and veterans alike could offer a lot of perspective. Social experiment: I want to reach out to the EFT community and ask what were your individual first impressions of the game? How do you remember feeling when you played your first raid? And finally, how has the game changed since you've started playing? Moderator decisions are final, please respect the moderator team and their actions. My room was on the top floor of the spa, in the west wing. It is painfully dear to me as a souvenir of those quiet days. Not as a service but as an act of friendship, please try to find it there. I don't care so much about my clothes as about my photo album which is left behind. They kicked everyone out of the station, they didn't even let people pack their bags. And then I hear trucks, not just one, a whole convoy. I had just returned to my room after dinner, sat by the window to look out over the bay. The time I was on vacation at a spa resort was in the evening, I remember it like it was yesterday. You know, sometimes, sitting by the campfire, I think back to how it all started. For the quest you have to go to the maps:įor the Kappa, do you have to do this quest?
